Adding aliases to user

5 10 2009

$ alias alias='kommando'

i.e :
$ alias clean='sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get autoremove'

This will make the command “clean” run both apt-get clean and autoremove.

You can also add aliases to /home/user/.bashrc

$ nano ~/.bashrc

An excerpt from my .bashrc:

# my aliases

alias update='sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade'
alias get='sudo apt-get install'
alias search='sudo apt-cache search'
